I could've made this with cheaper materials, but I chose not to.
The outer shell is 100% nylon, fully waterproof. Same for the duffle bag. It holds up for real travel and doesn't shred when wet and doesn't wear out after a few trips.
The inner lining is 230T polyester. Tightly woven so it doesn't rip when you stuff a pocket, but light enough that you're not sweating through the airport.
The 4 zippers on the coat are premium YKK zippers, not the bendy ones that snap after a month. The logo on the front is 3D puff embroidery, actually stitched in, not a print that peels off.
And the stitching. 16 accordion pockets means reinforced corners, triple-stitched seams, and gusset sides on every single one. There are more stitches in this coat than most jackets have in their entire build.
No expense was spared. The price reflects that.

We tested every possible way to add storage without adding bulk.
The solution: each pocket is stitched with a folding system that pushes volume inward toward your body and not outward.
When the pockets are empty, they lay completely flat. When they're full, it still looks like a normal coat.

Yes. TSA/Security doesn't charge bag fees, that's airlines. TSA only cares about what's inside, just like any other bag.
You take it off, put it in the bin, send it through the X-ray, and put it back on at the end. Same as a backpack or jacket. Takes 30 seconds.

Will it be too hot to wear?
No — because you're not wearing it for long.
1. Carry it as a duffle from home, like a normal cabin bag.
2. Put it on just before check-in or boarding, pockets loaded.
3. Once seated, fold it back into duffle form and stow it. You're wearing it for 5–10 minutes at a time.
Is this allowed through airport security?
Security screening and airline baggage rules are two different things.
At security: place the coat in the tray like any other jacket. It's screened, you collect it, done.
At the gate: baggage allowances apply to bags, not to clothing you're wearing. Liquids, batteries and other restricted items still follow standard security rules wherever you carry them.
